Power Amplifiers

A power amplifier takes a signal from a device and amplifies it so it is powerful enough to move a speaker. True power-amps do not have any volume controls on them, so another device controls the volume by adjusting the input signal.

Power-amps can easily be added to AV receivers to improve sound quality and volume. The AV receiver controls the volume whist the power-amp will make a signal strong enough to move the speakers. You will require a pre-out's on your AV receiver and 2 phono cables, not all AV receivers have pre-outs.

Power amplifiers are often used in stereo music, high quality audio systems and larger areas.
