S-Video is the next step up from composite. The signal is spilt into 2 separate signals (brightness and colour) unlike
composite where both are in one. S-Video can carries signals in either 480i or 576i resolution only.
S-Video uses a 4 pin plug, 2 pins are the colour and brightness, whist the other two pin are their grounds. S-Video pictures are sharper and have better colouring than composite ones. S-Video is suited to standard definition signals. |
