XBox 720» To be revealed on May 21

Wednesday 1st May, 2013 | Posted by Roguey | Comment 0 comments

For anyone who missed the big news post, Microsoft will reveal their new Xbox on May 21 (in Washington, USA). Not much else is known about the new console, Microsoft have been very secret about it.

On May 21 we should know a lot more about the new system, how much it will need an online connection, what the new hardware like (we know its based on x86), what new features have been added etc.

A quick look around on the net and I think the event should be broadcast around 1pm EST. That is around 5pm GMT or 6pm BST (British summer time).

Electronic Arts wins - Worst company

Wednesday 10th April, 2013 | Posted by Roguey | Comment 1 comments

I bet to many, its no surprise that EA have won an award for being the 'Worst company'. However this isnt the first year, but the second time (in a row) that EA have been voted the Worst company in a poll ran by consumerist.

EA COO Peter Moore commented on the poll, saying:

Are we really the Worst Company in America? I'll be the first to admit that we've made plenty of mistakes. These include server shut downs too early, games that didn't meet expectations, missteps on new pricing models and most recently, severely fumbling the launch of SimCity. We owe gamers better performance than this.

EA won the poll with nearly 78% of the votes, second to the Bank of America.

I do feel EA games arent the best; often forcing people to buy extra content to fix the game, countless DLC's, or releasing games that are half finished. However its not the only bad thing EA do, often they take-over small independent companies, to force them out of business.

Take the C&C community, once ran by Westwood each release was great, from the first C&C (Tiberium Dawn) right upto Red Alert 2. However EA acquired the franchise and it was never the same. C&C games have kind-off fell off the radar together after failure of C&C4, due to EA taking over.

I do hope egosoft dont fall to EA as well...
