Can you just buy a subscription for one month, go to the subscriber store, buy all the old flairs/exclusives you want, then unsubscribe

The dying star paint is the only thing I want for my Corsair, just found out about it but it's a 2 month old flair. I read there's a subscriber store that's obviously exclusive for subs so could I just buy the sub- and buy it off that store, unsub, and keep the paint?
