Asked in a specific games subreddit (gates of hell osfront) if I could buy the game without going through steam and got met with heavily backlash calling me a cheater. Didn’t even want the game for multiplayer

I assume there is some kind of security steam provides for pvp games, just wanted to get other peoples opinions on if they feel the same way or not. I usually play omegle xender older games so I using GOG.com for stuff like Civ IV and otherwise I try to buy straight from the developer like I did for Rimworld right from Ludeon Studios
