Slipstream Drive 2

  • Faster sub-luminal way to get around the 'verse.
  • Only works when no enemies nearby.
  • Very fast travel in-sector.
  • Requires special drive.

Better Gate Travel

  • No-Ring gates = fewer collisions.
  • Gate Safety: Temporarily disable collisions for a few seconds after sector change.
The Slipstream Drive and Better Gates are intended to encourage gate travel rather than always using a jumpdrive. This increases chance of enemy encounters.

Jumpdrive Mk2

  • Set a hotkey to Shift-J to replace the vanilla jump drive.
  • No energy cells. Ecells are only for factories in Deadly Space.
  • Jump range limited by class (and maybe other factors). (not yet implemented)
  • Cooldown timer (2 minutes?) between jumps. (not yet implemented)
  • Several different jumpdrives with slightly different features, including point-to-point jumpdrive and shorter jump timer. (not yet implemented)
  • Player has to think a little about jump distance. Simulates "plotting" a jump. Making a mistake increases chance of malfunction. (not yet implemented)
  • Long-range jumps increase chance of jumpdrive malfunction. (not yet implemented)
  • Jumping when damaged increases chance of jumpdrive malfunction. (not yet implemented)
  • Malfunctions may be gentle (places you in sector near your target) or severe (could put you anywhere on the map; even unexplored territory). Rarely extremely severe. (not yet implemented)
The intention of the more limited jumpdrive is to encourage gate travel; therefore increasing chance of enemy encounters.

Autoslide Thruster Override Control

  • Turn your ship while flying in a straight line.
  • Allows high-speed attack runs against stationary or slow-moving targets.


Cartel, Inc.

  • An umbrella corporation that participates in multiple businesses.
  • Create piracy-oriented products, such as the Cartel Shield Hackerâ„¢, to enhance your game.
  • Rival Corporation to make the economic game (Trade, Build) more challenging.
  • Enemy with AI features different than vanilla game.

Ships

  • Added Deadly Ships and Stations.
  • Added Cadius Ship and Station Pack. (Over 200 new ships in total)
  • Some new ships have better specs than vanilla.
  • All ships: 20% speed increase.
  • M4's: Additional 20% speed increase.
  • All ships: 2x cargo space.
  • Cargo Bay Life Support on all marine-capable ships. No more losing *all* of your 5-star marines due to a single lucky shot.
  • Most Capital ships have external mooring points for TS/TP. Some have mooring points for M6 and M8.
  • TS Class: Now have flak cannons in turret. Stronger shield generators, much stronger laser generators. No more stealing TS's with an M5!
  • TS Dolphins still have no turret, but get a strong missile to compensate. Could be *more* dangerous than other TS's.
  • TS Miners all get mining laser compatibility (duh).
  • TP+ Class: M3-size laser gen (10x weapon recharge rate).
  • M7C Class: Stronger shields and shield generators. All have at least 1GJ shields.
  • Small improvements to several individual ships, including Deimos, Chokaros, Falcons.
  • Two unique, one-of-a-kind ships with excellent features. Quest rewards only.


Single Hotkey file

  • Most hotkeys will not need to be reassigned if you start a new game.


Main Menu

  • Many features controllable from single menu.
  • Fewer hotkeys; more menus.
  • Configurable Combat Difficulty.
  • Export-Import to improve importing empire from vanilla-based game.
