Change of game-modes required

Over the past few days ive been flying around, seeing if other players need help. In my travels I have came across organized groups of players, pirating on other players. At first, I was a bit caught off-guard, seeing 2/3 pirates working together (before the wings update).

I am sad to report that this has lead to a few players resulting in sending me personal abuse out side of the game, through this site. I think this is a atrocious act and something Frontier needs to address. I know this is just one player's story, but im in a position to post this out to a community unlike most.

I know this isnt an isolated case, as the community events are plagued with this kind-of thing. I think originally Frontier planned the community events to be a good thing, but they have just resulted in hotspots. Organized groups have created blockages, forcing people to give-up on them or complete community events in solo-mode (which seems crazy to me, the whole point is to work together).

I also guess many traders (especially in Type 6/7/9) have been forced to solo mode, as they dont want other players killing or stealing from them. Sometimes without any real cause.

Soon there will be the wings update, which will allow players to group together. I think like the community events this will back-fire, and make things worse. Organized pirates/griefers will be able to work together easier. Most commanders will fly alone, as finding a wing wont be easy without a LFG system (that Guild Wars 2 has). This will probably result in more commanders being forced into solo mode.

What I think is required is a change to the game modes, instead of open/solo, we simply have cooperative play (PvE, like most MMO's) and PvP (for those who want to fight others). The two modes shouldnt be mixed together. Solo mode never made a lot of sense to me, as its basically open (so you need an internet connection) without other players (but you cant even pause for example).

I also fear that things will be made worse when the game goes on the consoles, as Xbox live/PSN networks can be used to send grief messages to other players, and there will be more players to cause grief too. How will this be policed? are Frontier happy with players causing personal abuse outside the game?

Its all a big shame, as when I first heard about Elite being online, I thought it would be a good thing. Finally being able to meet you guys, work together and form a guild as such. I dont denied there needs to be a PvP - most MMO's have one, and some players enjoy it.

If you agree with above, please show your support - comment, share etc. thanks.
