The Pirate Problem

When you are ready, travel towards the Paranid Trading Dock in Holy Vision delta and land. You will be told to contact Idmanckardet on the station to see if you can get more information about the dead gate in Holy Vision alpha. Instead his deputy answers and tells you he is busy.

You hear there is Pirate problem in the area and willing to help. He wants to know if you had any combat experience. You say no, not really - so he wants you to prove yourself by killing some Pirates. So undock and hang around Holy Vision beta, gamma, zeta or epsilon. Every so-often you should see a little notice (at the top right) saying that some Pirates are near-by. Go kill around 5 of them. Once done Joko Brano will want to talk to you again, so head back to the Paranid Trading Dock.

You tell him that you killed at-least 5 Pirates!!! This makes him some-what impressed. He starts to tell you about recent events;
When the first Paranid mission was sent to explore this system, some Pirates must have slipped through unnoticed. While we can't prove this, we believe that they may also have played a role in the HUB shutdown that led to us all being stranded here. The Pirates are trying to take control of the HUB, but for now we have managed to secure it. All of our scientists, including Idmanckardet, are working to restore its operational readiness. Unfortunately, the Pirates are attacking our convoys, making it almost impossible for us to deliver supplies to the HUB.

If you reduce the number of Pirate attacks, we can keep the convoys safe. We're sure the Pirates have a base around here somewhere. We haven't been able to locate it yet, because we've had to dispatch almost all of our forces to find resources for the HUB repair.
Once again you tell him you are willing to help out. You will now need to meet Ugalirias Wegoras Tertasobas VI at the Military Outpost in Holy Vision delta.

Tell you about how it would be a set-back for the Pirates if the Pirate base was destroyed. Fortunately a suitable combat ship is docked at the station, which is ideal for the task - an Paranid Nemesis! This is an M6 ship and probably a lot more powerful than your current ship. The only down-side is that this ship may be slower, which isnt helped not being able to jump to near-by jump-gates (with your jump-drive).

Its start to do some damage to the Pirate-Base

So when you are ready, travel to Holy Vision gamma. Keep firing on the Pirate Base until the shields are less than 50%. Once done you will be asked to stop firing. Agree to the ceasefire. A new ship will spawn - a Astrus Medusa Prototype. This guy will jam your weapons. He says that he has hacked your onboard computer, forcing it to run some sensor checks. However the main reason for jamming your weapons is to call for backup.

He tells you been lied too, and your not working for the Paranid government but the henchmen of the Duke. They want to steal the Hub. If everything was above-board then one of the four scientist working on the project should be able to tell you where Idmanckardet is. Visit the four Scientist that you been told. All four of them will not know where Idmanckardet is - basically you will get the run-around.
