Well ive tried your extreme mod version 2 and great ships etc, but noticed, it can make the storyline a little hard to complete, what with the pirates mugging you everytime you try to check the broken gate

thanks mate! Its been a long time since I looked at my X2 mods - doesnt help losing the disc 
. The superbox maybe a way of getting all the X's, although seems to be taking its time.
Is the story mode a lot harder? or just a bit? with the mod

the pirates seem to want to follow you across every sector you go through, so you are being mugged by everything you went past to get to brennans triumph, personally i always thought that would of ended up a goner area, with various races helping them be defended, just so they can get information from the gate....
Also capturing yourself a larger ship in a m5 is harder by far, energy runs out too quick to make it through the 8mw shields, but other than keep being shot trying to do the brennans triumph mission, things are not much harder, oh yes, what happened to the atreus clouds west gate to argon space?

As for a new problem, the octopus seeems to have a cockpit problem, wont make the blindest difference to most people but if you want to use it you end up with your head on the seat of the ship

I had a look a this and i did not have this problem. When you say head on the seat, do you mean you see lower then usual
