Custom start tutorial?

I am interested in making a custom start, are there any tutorials out there or even scripts for x3. I can find 2 custom starts for vanilla but they will not download.

Well, to make a custom start you need a couple of things:

- A universe map (you could take one from my X3 mod, as all the universe changes have been put together). Say like maps/pirate.xml

- A script (best to copy and paste one of ego's, for example: galaxy.Example.initplayership (in the scripts folder).

Rename the map to MyStart.xml .. This will make it appear on the custom start list with the name MyStart. However you need also make the script otherwise the game will start you off with the default settings. So go into the script editor and copy 'n paste galaxy.any name.initplayership and name it galaxy.MyStart.initplayership

You can also have your jobs and wings for each start by renaming to:

- types/Jobs.txt to types/jobs.MyStart.txt
- types/Jobwing.txt to types/jobwings.MyStart.txt

Both type types go into a mod, however the script and map dont.

Give or take in the midle of the page, were I say to build a mini mod.

Mini mod is a costom start to test anything you add to the game, so you can use this method if you like to since it is the same as any other start.
