Hello mate, me again. I was just wondering if you have any plans to add any more scripts, sectors or ships to your already top reunion mod. I was wandering if it would be possible to have a behemoth class ship, perhaps being bigger than a player hqn perhaps only unlockable through certain missions or when you acheive top rank with 3 or more different races.
What do you think, would it be possible?

Well its possible given time and the right people.

New ships needs modellers, although haven't seen for one for long time. I many of them have moved to new games now. I can not model that well, take my laser-tower Smile

The mods (X3 and TC) took a lot of my time too, which it is now spent running the site and writing new sections. I am trying to move to new ground by starting a PS3 site. So I doubt there will be any-more mods from me unfortunately. It may even spoil the mods ramming something in, as tried to make things 'fit'.

the major problem with this is the way X3 plays. as you know, movement in and out of the sectors is made utilizing "jumpgates." as you may not know, when you start to use larger ships, this system starts to fail. the larger ships, such as M2's, M1's, and the dreaded M0, are so large, that sometimes when they warp in/out, they tend to run over smaller ships. the bigger the ship, the bigger the chance of this happening, as you take up more of the "warp tunnel."

another issue, is that if you get much larger than a M0, your ship won't even fit through the jumpgate. your shiny new behemoth M0+ will crash into the side of the jumpgate and kill itself if you try to jump in/out of sectors. now, there are a few ways around this. there are mods out there that use jumdrive technology to jump to specific points in a sector, bypassing the jumpgate altogether. one could utilize this technology to jump your massive M0+ ship into or out of a sector, however you would still run the risk of jumping on top of other ships.

one final limiting factor. X3 only allows you to modify ships to a certian point. you can only have so many guns, so much energy, so on and so forth. the M0, if you haven't cought on yet, is pretty darn close to at this limit, if not pushing it.

thus a ship large, and more daunting than even the M0, would be possible to create and impliment to an extent. it would also, however, be extremely unpractical and not really very usefull. the best weapon to have in X3 is a well trained mind. with that, you can make the money to raise a balanced, versatile fleet of ships, that can swoop into a sector and deal with any foe that would present itself.

in eternity, forever lasts but an instant.

Your correct jacer08 about the M0, they already push X3 to its limits:

Guns wise: 6 turrets (is the max, this would of been great to be increased), each turret with often with 12 guns (which is again the max),

Size wise, M0 are big. If they get much bigger they will be useless, as they will hit into everything: ie. a M0+ warps into a gate, then 10 seconds later *bang*
