I have a bounty hunting Vulture that I hadn't used in years. After randomly deciding to update and fly it for a bit, I've fallen back in love with it and now use it as my main combat ship over my FDL and others. I know what you mean - its shame a lot of the ships you never really use after you get that big ship. I would of like of seen more use from the old Cobra Mk3, but its not practical.

One option is to use third-party tools like EDSM to help you locate outposts and carriers along your route. EDSM allows you to search for specific types of stations and carriers, and can provide detailed information about each location.
