I was having a nostalgic moment earlier today, and decided to google X-COM: Enemy Unknown. Some of you might remember the original Microprose game from the early 90s: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFO:_Enemy_Unknown

So, I was very much impressed when I came across this: http://www.xcom.com/enemyunknown/index.html

It looks great and it seems as though the new developers have kept the games original format in mind. I for one am really looking forward to this hitting the shelves.

Your thoughts?

i've honestly never heard of it. I just checked on steam and they have the complete pack for $15. I thought it was an FPS but looking at the screenshots from Enemy Unknown it looks like a strategy type thing.

I'll def try a demo when they have one ready.

I was a huge fan of the original back when I was in school. They released it on the PS1 sometime around 2000 which I snapped up and played to death.

There's a kind of RTS element to it, but that's only about 25% of the game. Most of it was turn based (not sure if the new version will continue in that respect)but yeah, it's all about strategy.
