This is quite old project and they finally decided go to Kickstarter.

sounds impressive if they can pull it all off. Elite is going to get there first (with the planet landing) so I guess that's going to steal the lime-light somewhat. Capital ship battles do sound good too.

I dont know much about kick-starter, what happens if you fund a project and they later stop it? do you lose your money?

Pretty much, just like early access on Steam. The difference is how the funding model works. It has to reach the funding goal before any money is actually taken. Once it is though, there is no guarantee of anything.

I would like to support the project but unfortunately there is no one word about Linux version. Anyway, I hope the project will reach the goal and they are able to continue with the project. $300K is not much money for game development so a bit hard to say how far they could go with it.
