Hello and Peace to you,

We are preparing to take Omicron Lyrae

Well, when I first played AP as a Terran Commander, I couldn't survive (you know what does this mean) and I was disappointed, then I decided to play as an Argon Peacekeeper and everything was ok until the first plot has ended and again the war wasn't as much interesting as I expected.

Then again I decided to try another Game Start, and this time I chose to stay away from the war and just be friendly to both sides, I picked out the Argon Patriot and it was so good, but later... I missed the war and its heat, what a confusion! Exp
However I kept the progress made in this one to be continued later some time.

But now after I've learned many things and what the Rapid Response are, and began to understand the war the way its meant to be played, I returned to the Terran Commander, and now I'm a commander and I find it the most interesting role in the game especially that I like ATF ships (and some of USC ships like the Kyoto) and terran technology and weapons.

I know that the other side (friend to Argons, foe to Terrans) is also interesting, but its just my preference and I don't like the idea of being enemy to the terrans, what about you?

And by the way, my Flagship in this case would be either the Valhalla or the Kyoto, the Valhalla most likely. Wink

Omicron Lyrae is under our control

I'd like your comments about war and what are the profits gained from it. Smile

I know what you mean; when I first heard a war-report it was exciting - something important was happening. However after responding to a few war-reports, it was disheartening to see I didnt really have any impact, and the same messages came-up (invade Omicron Lyrae for example).

I also thought the 'war' wouldnt be limited to just the war-sectors, and hoped to aid my side take more of the universe back from the enemy.

I think the 'war' could of been better, and was a bit of a messed opportunity.

After a while the war becomes something you just have to work around. as such the Inner Solar System has become something of a little visited back-water with only the Moon being of real interest.
I've figured out how to get ships (Springblossoms) through Jupiter so have partially broken the blockade, but mostly it's just a source of frustration.
My 'Flagship is a Kyoto though its fairly rare that I actually use it.
The Woden is rather better in a fight and just about anything is less likely to collide when manoeuvring.

Somewhere out there is a Cobra Mk III with my name on it.
It isn't mine, some rando actually wrote my name across the side of his ship...

Does anyone else interested in the 'war' or its just this Bricks?

I suspect non-Terran players simply ignore it as it doesn't affect a significant portion of the Commonwealth.
If you are playing as Terran you don't that option.
though most of the interesting stuff is happening beyond the Warzone itself; Currently I'm trying to cap a Mercury Prototype (after finally tracking one down)

Very nice, and I'm sure you know that the Hayabusa have a very wide range (hence a reasonable range of prices) of cargo bay extension, but it may still be expensive yeah, so what else (other than that mercury) could be another nice choice? Smile

Now im playing modded game (XRM). Well, "WAR" is still disappointment, but bounty system help a bit. If someone is tired of building, with this mod can make nice money hunting enemies (both sides of war depending on your choice). However I fully agree that WAR is nothing special in AP. No matter what actions we take - there is no result. So probably like most of AP players, after a while I just turn off war reports.
Its a pity that Ego did not take any advantage of their own creation. Im sure there are some really simple ways to make this conflict more interesting. If only there be JOBs that affect the war, and war itself should affect more area of universe. IMO its really understandable that both sides of conflict take actions only in few sectors. And the biggest problem is that there is no way to end war.

I think I only have the one Hyabusa, mostly because you can only get it at the Moon and then need to get a Jumpdrive to it before you can put it to work in the outer Solar System where it's only real role would be shifting E-cells.
That said I have been using to trade Delexian Wheat and Cloth Rimes beteeen Aldrin and Harmony of Perpetuity and more recently carrying resources from my HQ support complex to my PHQ. Every so often I use it to do a reasonable Wares mission.
Within the Solar System and Aldrin the Baldric and Scabbard do most of my Mk3 local trading, though I do have a few Caiman Haulers which is something of a hangover from TC when they were the bulk of my UT fleet. I wouldn't stick them out in the AP galaxy though. Instead I'm training half a dozen Springblossoms for the UT role as well as CLS blockade running through Jupiter and Asteroid Belt.
I have plenty of the more common Mercury, Demeter and Vulture TS ships which I liberated from Argon pilots earlier in the game. These now serve as perma-docked warehouses at my PHQ and certain complexes.

I also have an Express Hauler which is currently running CLS to sell Keris and Poltergeists, though I'll send for Reverse Engineering once I get around to transferring the pilot.

I have a Drake at my Hammer & Flail plex in Twisted Skies which transfers missiles to my Senshi which is usually docked at the Military Base in the sector.

On my 'To capture list' are the Mercury Prototype mentioned and a Mistral which are the only TS ships faster than a Baldric. There's also the Solano (M4) and Phantom (TP), these are somewhat easier to find than the Mercury Prottype so not as high a priority and I'm willing to destroy a few rather than go through the endless reload-till-bail process... I'm also looking to board a Heavy Centaur Prototype and Skiron. Probably one or other of the Argon M7s as well though I need to train hackers first...
I'm also looking to hijack Mammoths with Argon stations aboard - Wheat Farms, Rimes Facts, Space Fuel Distilleries, Cattle Ranches and Cahoona Bakeries.
I'm currently building Nova Prototypes and Aamon Prototypes at my PHQ and will be building Ls and LXs later.

My personal ships are a selection of Spitfyres with different loadouts, a Springblossom, my original Katana, a Chokaro, an Ocelot, a Maccana, an Aegir, a Tokyo, a Woden and a Kyoto.

There's also a Toukon which used to be used to get Jumpdrives back when we had to buy them from Atreus HQ, now its used to get Mk3 Trade Software from PTNI and CLS from the Paranid Communication Facility.

My fighter wings are; 10 #deca.cefas with MAMLs, 10 Scimitars, 10 Cutlasses, 10 Thors and 10 Fenrirs.
I also have a wing of 6 Claymores and I'm planning to build a wing of Valis.

@jaml,
I agree, and unfortunately the war isn't as much interesting as we expected and yet there is no way to end it, but somehow I'm still fighting in the war and those aliens have no chances against me, lol.

And thanks a lot Ripskar for these useful information Smile

Is it actually possible to acquire these factories this way? It would be nice Nod

But still, I think that (for me at least) its really too hard/challenging, as a terran commander who is a foe to most of the commonwealth races, to acquire commonwealth ships, factories, weapons and other wares. But you did it right? Smile

Indeed the ATF/USC/Terraformer fighters are very tough, and the Claymore is the most powerful M8. And about the Valis wing, while one Vali isn't much powerful than one Vidar, a wing of Valis would be a formidable one however they are expensive, but I'll think of it once I've some Credits.

It is possible but you need to prepare for it, first off grab a Bioscanner (You should get this during the plot IIRC) and go shopping for marines with 50+ fight skill (think 20-40 jarheads). They'll need training in Engineering and I use the Military Base in Twisted Skies for this purpose you'll also need to train a handful in Mechanical and at least 2 Hackers. I picked up an M7M Senshi from the Yaki in Senator's Badlands as a boarding ship. There are boarding guides around the net. You can practice boarding vs. Casinos and Hospital Ships in the Commonwealth.
Finally you want to hunt down a Mammoth with one of your preferred Stations aboard, you'll need a freight scanner to check the cargo holds which will also show any defences. You can encourage the Mammoths to carry the relevant stations by destroying the NPC stations which is where your Claymores come into their own.

This is why I try to keep the Teladi/Split/Paranid on side. Making friends is fairly easy if there is any Xenon activity going, plus taxi and build missions, though it's upto you if you want to expand the war against the whole Commonwealth or try to limit it to the Argon and Boron.
You can also hunt Argon shipping in Paranid Space and Boron shipping in Split space...

Guys, If You like play as Terran I suggest to install XRM.
With this mod Terran was updated with full scale working economy (including all feautures) and many ships. So it is possible to play "pure" terran, and fight all others. There is also USC Police License available, so You are not forced to make only trade runs (with bounty system you can play as bounty hunter). If You are bored with standard vanilla, play this mod (IMO) is best choice.

Well, for me, the war is getting even more hot now as I'm being promoted to a Sergeant Wink and now I have the formidable ATF M6 Vidar, and that Wraith when used in masses it provides highly devastating power with area-effect destruction, for example 12 Wraiths not only can destroy a fully shielded M1 Colossus but also all of its fighters while deploying from its hanger! also a combination between poltergeists and other missiles can increase the hit-efficiency for Wraith & Specter missiles.

However, launching Wraiths needs precision to successfully hit the target. Still, I prefer the Wraith as one of the most interesting missiles in the game.

Maybe its just me, but I don't to install extra mods/scripts to make x3ap better. Kind of feels like we patching the game ourselfs. Like you guys said; the war had a lot of potential but wasn't used. I guess because x3ap was rushed. In the end you're probably just turn off the war Unfortunately.

I agree that the terrains arent a full side; there are a few missing things. At one stage they didn't even have an TL you could hire. Although no terrain police licence is annoying - although the bounties havnt been improved since like x2. isn't the reward like 5k for a M1/2 (in vanilla)? Its been awhile since I've played. Kind-of waiting for rebirth.

For me, I don't use any mods nor any scripts, only vanilla with some features from the bonus pack, because the vanilla game looks (to me) more balanced, suitable and don't have kind-of cheating feeling. That's just my preference and I really hope that mods of X Rebirth (if any) will be more suitable and balanced than X3 mods.

I did have parts of TRP installed for a while between 2.0 and 2.5 but haven't bothered with mods since.
Police licence doesn't really add anything, on the off chance I want to scan anything in the Terran sectors I have more than enough rank to get away with it and the financial rewards for shooting stuff aren't worth it.
The ability to bypass the Warzone with Project Bifrost is about the only thing that really stands out currently.

I just finished the Operation Loose Ends plot and have finally acquired my own HQ (a terran version of HQ), and I'm thinking to build my HQ in Saturn at the north-west area of the sector (in my game there is a jump beacon near the west trans-orbital accelerator) as the best place to get jump-drives is from Saturn (Orbital Defense Station).

Do you have any suggestions on where to put the Terran PHQ? Explain Smile
