C&C Generals awarded Best Strategy Game by IGN

Somewhat old news, but this hasn't been reported on Ammo before...

Command and Conquer Generals was awarded the title of Best Strategy Game of 2003.

We love strategy games here. And we love the fact that the just keep getting better and better as time passes, especially since the crappy throngs of crap have stopped crappily crapping up the store shelves. Consequently, this year brought us a pretty tough decision in this category with more than a couple of games in serious contention in both real-time and turn-based markets. But when all was thought through, Generals was decided upon simply because it was done with style and power in a modern setting filled with keen new weapons and gadgets without going foolishly over the top. The units and factions were well thought out, the conflict was timely, and the look was brilliant in almost every way. Heck, the fact that the developers went and re-invented a beloved series without totally screwing it up and angering a rabid fan base probably says enough.
