Delphi speaks, again

Hmm, It looks like that Westwood is waking up, finnallly, could this mean the turn in the community, let's hope so, and again Delphi puts some issues to your reading eyes:
I have been with the community since TS, well over four years now (much longer than any other community manager to date). I've helped lay the groundwork for events, dev team communication process, and interviews based upon your feedback. I would like to point out the C&C community was nothing more than a few sites when RA2 was announced. Now look at it, 100+ in the past two years. Something I am very proud to be part of.
The community needs to evolve and accept the growth. Fighting over who's who and which site is the best based on time in the community is not healthy. This should be the responsability of the larger webmasters.
I've been very aware of the problems Mark pointed out so clearly. I've been planning out way to help eliminate them in a new incentives program I have devised for the C&C community when the Generals full site goes live (not for some time). It won't be focused on who's WW favorite site, but it will allow the hard work of the webmasters and site staff to speak for themselves.
If we were to release all the Generals info now, there would be nothing new to talk about and we'd be back into the same situation before the game ships. Instead, we are gearing up to steadily release the goods over time. You do want a killer C&C RTS game right? Lurking around the 100+ sites and answering interviews takes time, thus they focus on only a few. It's not that we don't want to talk to you, but at this critical point in time. The team has some key milestones they need to meet. That's all...
I have had a low profile for some time now with only a few interviews here and there due to the limited amount of information I can talk about. Most of you know I've never been about popularity and I never go into great detail about my personal life (unlike some, heh). Like you guys, I am a gamer and talking about C&C is what I love to do. Just because I don't talk with everyone on AIM or post on our fansites sites everyday does not mean I don't care, because I do. This will change as the Generals PR machine kicks into high gear.
I would like to point out Cliff was not a subordinate of mine. Renegade, the events he hosted (Chats, dev team competitions), and the community surrounding it was based on his actions. I helped with stuff behind the scenes (, event plans, tracking reports, exec team interaction). RA2 was my baby, and to this date I'm very proud of everything we did for it. I only wish we could have done more events via WOL with the team.
Relationships with our fans and webmasters are what we are all about. If it didn't care there would not be any community staff for any of our games. You'd have static sites, no WW VS the WORLD competitions, and no official forums. We would not offer fansite kits nor would we bring webmasters out to our studio to play the game with our development teams. Because we have this interaction with our fans, it makes us more visible as targets for criticism.
Well I hope this all makes sense. I just want the community to know we appreciate everything you guys have done for us over the years. Please keep up the good work.
Regards
If Westwood has finally opened it's eyes, this could turn very good, let's keep hoping
