Don't loose faith in westwood!

Don't loose faith, this is what Delphi had to say in the westwood nations forums:

Nice, but I do disagree.

“…because support and Q&A sessions seem to have been lacking in the build up to the newest Command & Conquer game, Generals. With a revolutionary new graphics engine, mounting media hype and an ever growing fan base, you’d think it would be all hands on deck to stem the torrent of questions. Sadly, it isn’t.”

Delphi –So you are saying Generals should be hyped like Tiberian Sun? We learned many things from that campaign and we will not repeat the same mistakes.

I'd personally like to see 5 months of constant non stop PR with tons of "SOLID" information than a Hodge podgy of blocky Q&A's talking things that might not exist anymore.

"One way that they’ve tried to create some interest is by registering at the forums of fan-sites, with the theory being that as each member poses a question Delphi or whoever is signed there can answer it. "

Delphi- The team has been under tremendous pressure to solidify and meet milestones over the past few months. That means, for the time being, they need to focus on the product. That does not mean we are not aware of what the community is asking for or needs. I'm sorry that we cannot get to every question. We'd like to though.

"We have to know things about games to keep the excitement levels running high, and if the pool of new screenshots and information dries up, then so will the community."

Delphi - Agreed, and it is in our plans to release information via our full website and development updates in the next month. We are not purposely keeping information from the community; we want to make sure the information released is accurate.

Guys, there is plenty of time left and I can guarantee the hype machine will be in full gear very shortly. Working in conjunction with each other, the PR and community management teams will make sure that once the flood gates open, they will remain open.

So for now relax, there are more previews in the works with some of the top press sites, a full website is near completion and the official forums are on the horizon. Things are not as dire as article like this make them out to be.

I do have one question for the webmasters.

“Should we only work with the top 5 sites when it comes to Q&A’s and screen shots?”

What determines a “TOP 5” site? Flashy layouts and unique visitors.

The community is becoming so large that it’s difficult to service everyone. Just a thought.

Regards, Delphi

So this is just what the community needed.
