So I actually bought X3:AP and X3:TC on sale years ago, but never touched them. I enjoy space sims, but never cared for giant tycoon management gameplay. I just like having a few ships and pirating.

I wasn't interested in X4 until I saw that you could board and steal enemy ships. I was instantly hooked, bought the game, and that's basically all I've been playing for the past couple of days. The issue is that X4 is a bit empty atm, so I figured I'd play X3.

My question is, are there any mods that to enhance this type of gameplay? I hear about the Litcube conversion a lot, and it seems like an overall enhancement, although I'm unsure if it's compatible with what I want to do. Will the enemy tycoon and Xenon take over everything while I pitter-patter around the world? Or can I take my time pirating on small scale?
