'zil1.dll' argh!!!

This is the file that will kill me! X2 is asking for the file. I have searched every where for this file, my computer, the discs, rogueys mod and it is nowhere to be seen. Any tips? or could someone with x2 send me this file to my email.

That is strange, is X2 asking for this or one of the mod tools?

when i click to run x2 a message comes up saying 'x2 needs this file 'dil1.dll' to run, re-installing the application may help' something like that comes up. i have re-insalled twice and searched thd computer

Have you tried compatibility mode? ie. right click on it, properties, compatibility then set Windows 95 or 98?

I just did a search in google for "zil1.dll" and it came up with just my site. It seems no body else in the world has got this error 
Maybe do a check for virus or spy software?

go into google and type: "zil1.dll"
You should find only 1 thing ie this thread.

i got it wrong it is
zlib1.dll not zil1.dll
zlib1.dll not zil1.dll

Ah, that makes a difference 
A quick look around it seems to suggest its something to do with how you installed the patches and/or the shortcut properties. I have found two threads on the egosoft forum which may help:
- "zlib1.dll" not found,
- Error IJL10.dll Not found

hmmm, that is odd. You installed the game and then applied the latest patch, tried compatibility mode and still comes up with this error?

lets just say my cat will not want to sleep under my desk again! and its probably in the rec bin cause i might have accidently deleted, also i want to know why my cpu did not search the rec bin.
