I need something to do on X2 i have a lot of credits and alot of stations i have completed the campaign endless times and i have wiped argon sectors. (this is over four save games) and i am starting on of fifth save game wiping out the paranid! I am know board. Has anybody got any ideas to help me with this!

I guess there are mods, although you cant get them to work?

Right i will try the mods one more time:
Tell me if i do it right.
1) Download Mod
2) Extract all mod files to X2 Mods folder in X2 Folder
3) Play Game

Hopefully it should work this time:
Download the zip file and extract the following files into your <game>/X2/mods folder:
(ie. C:/Program files/X2/mods):
- Rogueys_Extreme v2.dat
- Rogueys_Extreme v2.cat
After that then run the game. On the first screen where it says about setting the resolution, input device, player logo etc. Click on "Select mod package", you should then have list of mods installed, select one then click on "Ok". Once that is done you should be sent back to the first screen with the setup option. Just play the game as normal. You only need to select the mod package once.

I already have updated to V1.5 but that does not work either! 
I will try again.
I am right in saying you just Extract/Copy the patches to the x2 folder. and with 1.4 > 1.5 run the .exe

Right,

Sounds like you got it a bit more working! In the 'select mod package' menu, is any mods listed?

I can't get in to the 'Select Mod Package' section. I will screen shot and email to you what i mean. Instead of emailing. Is their a way of putting images into my replies on this forum?

There is a way of posting images. Upload them to somewhere like imageshack.us then copy and paste the direct link and place [img] around it.
Well re-looking at your first picture the folder name is wrong - you have 'X2 Mods', when it should simply be called 'mods'. So try renaming the folder and restarting X2.

You have been struggling - good to hear you have finally cracked it.... erm,.. the problem not the cat
I havnt got any suggestions what to do in the mod, just have some fun. Please bare in-mind its one of my first mods for the X games, so its more 'rough'.

Terran Conflict is the latest, then X3, X2, X-tension, X1
