1) These cannons PIERCE through objects, and all you can do is to stay out of their range. Gone are the days of friendly fire incidents.
2) PBCs have a firing range of around 5.5km to 7km. Good luck getting close enough with your smaller ship or corvette before seeing fat blue or red laser pointers turning you into scrap.
3) They act like the omega version of Kyon Emitters used by the Kha'ak: big lasers that hit instantly and drain your shields and hull at ludicrous speeds.
4) The fire rate seems to be somewhat out of order. According to the mod description/readme, the PBCs should be potent, hard-to-dodge weapons that charge up for a specific time before firing (non-spam weapons for short) and "aren't designed to track smaller ships" (bad turning speeds)?
I noticed that these cannons fire at least four times per second, and now pair that with the Xenons' M1s/M2s, which have three of those cannons on each side. Again, good luck getting close to one as a non-M1/M2 ship.
5) There's little to no counterplay against ships armed with PBCs: An enemy M1/M2 in your sector and no allied/owned M1/M2 in sight?
Get out of that sector IMMEDIATELY unless you want to see all the stations/ships get folded to next week.
I will finish my playthrough with this mod. However, I won't stick around long after I finish the story missions.
