Hi

New to this site, I am looking for a little help with Roguey's Mod. I have just download it and I am getting a message saying that access to the zipped folder is denied, there is a padlock on the folder as well. Any help would be good.

Had a look at the you tube video, looks good.

hi there and welcome to the site!

I take it that you have downloaded the file RogueysX3Mod-v321.zip, then used windows to unzip the file? Does this happen for any other zip files? and what windows are you running?

Yes I did, and I have not downloaded many zip files, I am using windows 7, also when I have tried to download it again, (trial and error), I notice the file is in the TC directory on the save window, but when I check it through the my computer, program fiels route its not there. Is it me thats going mad or my computer?

Maybe the file is in your My Documents/Egosoft/X3TC/ somewhere? and not the main TC folder. Btw, which version of the mod are you looking for? because there is one for X3 and another for TC.

Its Rougeys TC mod V1.0, is that the right one.

Okies, ive moved this post into the Roguey's TC mod area. I was thinking you were talking about the X3 mod. Anyway...

So as for your problem, have you tried to download the mod a second time encase there was a error in the zip? I have just checked the primary download and the file unzipped correctly. Which site did you use (primary or mirror)?

Could you also check to see if you can unzip any other zip files - encase its something to do with windows?

Hi again, I have tried from both sites and have tried to download another zip file with the same result. Its strange that I can see the file when I try and save it a second time, but when I go in to the actual xtc directory its not there. Also I tried to extract it by right clicking but it got so far and came up with an error message 0x80004005, and saying that the location is unavailble.

hi there,

its no problem! It sounds like windows is 'protecting' file for some reason. Are you an a 'admin' of your system? It might be easier to try another decompression utility like winzip or winrar to extract the contents of the file.

Hi, yes I am the admin for this infernal pc, just to let you know, I installed x3tc on my laptop and updated it to version three, then I downloaded the Mod on to it and it worked fine, only thing was, the laptop is not great for running games. I liked what I saw though, hopefully I will get it working on my pc.

hi there,

glad you got it working in some degree. I think with your main computer is something to do with windows, so it might be worth doing some googling (especially on keywords such as '0x80004005' ). Hopefully you're be able to get it work on there too!
