Readme's telling me some ships can mix shieldtypes - what's the system in place?

I would've assumed i can put military shields on any ship which allows for the shields size - 5mj, 25mj, 200mj for 75mj military.
Why would mixing not be possible for most cases?

I'm just starting out so i don't have the money to throw at randomly checking this.

Also: is it possible in x3tc mods to create (i)nfo screens for added weapons etc? Are the modified ones even changed based on the altered values?

Hi there and welcome to the site!

Military shields simply recharge faster than normal shields, and come in 5MJ, 10MJ / 75MJ. You can see if a ship fits military shields by looking at the max shield on the information page. So if a ship can fit up-to 200MJ, then it wont take military shields. However if the ship lists 5/10/75MJ military shields, then you can put those on. Mixing is possible.

Oh, its not possible to add to the info pages, simply to change names, stats etc. unfortunately.

Only ships that specifically list military shields?

Which would that be? None of the Terran shipyard ones.

well there arent lots of ships which use the new military shields, as many of the existing ships shields are fine the way they were. So you probably find more chance of them being on the new ships.
