welcome Chuck,
theres a lot more things you can savage, as in X3TC you can board M6 and bigger ships with marines. The Xenon ships are the hardest to board, but it can be done including the Xenon M1/2/7's. Ive personally boarded a few ships including an boreas (more info here).
