X3 still worth it?

Sorry this might be a dumb question, but I am very new to X series space sim game, and I saw X3 and X4 both selling at the same time. I didn’t even consider X3 at all because I am stupid and thinking if there is 4 why bother with 3? Until I read some of the negative comments on X4 where people say X3 is at perfect stage, I wonder what does that mean? Is that worth it to buy X3 over X4 https://showbox.tools/ https://speedtest.vet/?

I know what you mean, you think 4 is greater than 3. X3 is arguably the best of the x-series. X3 itself is quite old, but X3: Terran conflict, X3AP and X3FL are feature rich (especially X3FL). Graphics they still do well - a part from the GUI can be hard to read (it doesnt scale) in resolutions like 4k.

I think basically Egosoft tried to take the x-series in a different direction when X-Rebirth was released (the game between X3 and X4). It wasnt a great success, so Egosoft tried to make X4 more like X3. So hence X4 is kind-of a half-way house.
