Mods for X3 Reunion noob

I bought X3:Reunion in my teens, the game was too complicated for me and I shelved it.

In a sudden bout of nostalgia I’ve repurchased it from GOG and intend to play through and complete the storyline 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254 .

(I know that TC and AP are considered to be the superior versions of the game, and I’ll get to those once I’ve completed Reunion)

Are there any mods I should install to improve my Quality of Life, or general bugs?

I’m pretty sure game is V2.5 (at work, so can’t check).
