I purchased the X3 Gold Edition game box set not long after it was available.
This contains 2 games; X3 Terran Conflict 2.5-Aldrin Missions (which I'm presently playing) and X3 Reunion 2.5-Bala Gi Missions (which I've only spent a few hours playing).
I have no Mods, add-on scripts, or patches installed.

Could someone tell me which, if any, update patch(es) I should be looking at to download?
A quick search shows patch 3.1.1 is available for download.

If downloading a patch is recommended, would I be able to do so and not have it affect the present game I'm playing?

The one thing I notice about 2.5 is that in Legend's Home, the OTAS Shipyard and the Federal Argon Shipyard are "visually" switch. Each 'plays' as it should. It's a minor thing and one I can put up with.

If a patch is recommended, what (major) changes would I notice?

Thanks ahead for any input...

hi there,

usually its a good idea to patch your game straight away. Some of the x-games had some major bugs in them, and there are a number of new content has been added since the initial release.

It is always a good idea to backup your saves before doing the patches encase anything goes wrong, although its highly unlikely your game wont work with the latest patches.

You should find a complete list of patches here:
- X3: Terran Conflict - Patches

I suggest you do the following:

- Download and install Terran Conflict 2.0 -> 3.0,
- Download and install Terran Conflict 3.0 -> 3.1,
- Download and install Terran Conflict 3.1 -> 3.1.1,
- Run and load in your game,

I know its a bit of fag, but you only have to do it once.

OK. Sound good.
Thanks for the link. I'll download the patches and install over the weekend...when real-life calms down.

lol, sounds like an plan. btw I recommend you backup the patches on a dvd or something: that way if you need to re-do them, then you wont have to spent ages getting them all.

I am notoriously bad about keeping track of disc's. Embarassed
But I have an extra 4G stick laying around that I use for game patches.

And just to make sure I have it down correctly, installing the 3.1.1 patch will NOT give me the stuff from previous patches...right?

Since you listed as you did, I'm assuming that one patch does NOT include the previous ones.

hi there,

well there doesn't seem to be one big patch to v3.1.1. It looks like you must to patch to v3.0, then v3.1 and the third patch to 3.1.1. Maybe egosoft will do a single patch to v3.1.1 but its not there atm.

Real-life hasn't been very co-operative this weekend so I didn't get around to downloading the patches.
I'm downloading them now and I have a question... Wave

Since my disc is version 2.5, would there be any issue installing all the patches 2.0 through 3.1.1?
Or should I start with the 2.6 patch?

hey, I know that feeling. I would install patch 2.0 > 3.0 as this will take you onto v3.0 regardless of which version of 2.0 you have (you said you had 2.5). Then install patch 3.0 > 3.1, and then finally v3.1 > v3.1.1

After-which you should be all up-to date Smile
