I'm on my second TC game and noticed some interesting differences from my last game.

First Game: Started as Humble Merchant and was making bucketloads of credits from selling argon food stuff.
Second Game: Started as Teladi Trafficker. Massive oversupply of food for all races except the Boron. All the food factories are completely full and there is next to zero demand. Boron are a different story though, they are way under supplied in food, its possible the only reason most of their stations weren't removed by GoD is that I have been manually supplying them.

First Game: Pirates are a very minor threat at best. Even in pirate sectors they are rarely seen. Loomankstrats Legacy is a nice to visit with a TS and pick up some IBLs. The only pirate capital in existence is in Gaian Star.
Second Game: Pirate fighters are pouring out of pirate alley (Loomanckstrats Legacy - Mi Tons Refuge - Moo-Kyes Revenge). its not uncommon to find groups of 5 or more M3s escorting a pirate M1 in sectors such as Split Fire. You need a destroyer to get past the cloud of never ending fighter spawns in Loomanckstrats Legacy.

First Game: All the races are pretty much at peace. no fights happening whatsoever.
Second Game: I have witnessed 3 very large invasions by racial forces, 2 by the Paranid and one by the Argon.

Seems like the universe is much hotter this time around. I'm not complaining but I thought it was interesting to how different the 2 games are.

Trust me im really not complaining. I actually love it, especally the huge amounts of pirates in pirate alley. Just like Reunion was. I got my brother playing X3 like that. I just got my Python all kitted out and jumped in there, he was amazed at how you can fly a destroyer like that and the flak effects and stuff. OFC there are no pirate capitals in Reunion but the sheer number of fighters can down down any M2, good testing grounds.

Anyway I just thought I would post something new. what have you guys noticed different between your games?

In my first game, I didn't understand the mechanics involved in playing the game. I pretty much just learned as I played.

My first game was started about 1.5 years ago, I played for several weeks. Both my first and present games I started as Humble Merchant. Present game I began this past July 4th week.

First game: noticed hostilities amount the races, primarily between the Argon and Paranid.
Second game: same hostilities between the Argon and Paranid, plus big battles between the Split and the Boron (mostly in the lower SE sectors).
I haven't noticed any hostilities involving the Teladi in either game.

First game: I noticed pirates in many sectors but seemed to be disorganized and not too much of a threat.
Second game: pirates are more numerous. And there seems to be different factions. I have some ships and stations showing up in red. Majority showing up blue/friendly.
I have pirates listed as "friend" verses "foe" in my command console.

First game: my luck at trading was pretty low. I found wares at fairly medium prices and it took quite a bit to locate some place to sell the items at a minor profit.
Second game: trading was/is a whole lot better..right from the start. Found plenty of stuff at lower prices and buyers willing to pay near the max. I actually made some of my best profits from bartering.

First game: best I could do was the purchase of an Elephant. I didn't manage this ship very well (didn't understand the use of freight drones).
Second game: I quickly purchased 2 Elephants and a Mammoth. Shortly after, I bought my first M7. Now have four M7's, three M2's and a total fleet of 101 ships and fighters.

I like how 'my' second game is working so much better then the first one.
Neither game was patched (present game just got patches installed up to 3.1.1 in the last 2 weeks) when started, and I don't have any modifications or added scripts.

It's not what someone has done..it's about what they are about to do!

Does sound you guys are having some large changes per game. Me personally, once I start a game I usually stay with-it until im finished with it for awhile.

I yet to see any real battles between the Argons and Paranid, as normally they stay in their own sectors. Maybe the battles have been happening but its hard to know where they are. Its not like you are told about any large battles between them.

When I was playing my "first game", I only went to that Russian site for it's X3 universe map. I didn't get any 'insider' information from it so I was kinda lost as I played.

When I started my "second game", the one I'm playing now, I had found this site and read through it pretty thoroughly as I began the game.

BTW, thanks again for starting and maintaining it Wave

One other issue I remember different from both games, in the first one the Corporation HQ's had a pretty good number of wares already so I didn't get the best price.
In this game, the Corporation HQ's have no wares, or sometimes very few, so I get the highest price when selling at them.

As for the battles!!!
In both games, the Paranid attacked Home Of Light sector wiping it out completely.
In this game, the same sector has been attacked a second time, Cloudbase North West and Red Light sectors have also been decimated.

The Boron have hit the Split sector, Patriarch's Conclusion, two times that I am aware of, taking out the Shipyard, Equipment Dock, Trading Port, and some of the other stations each time.

You are right. Battles happen randomly and without any warning that I notice. The only way I know that a battle occurred at all, some times, is the missing stations during my a visit.

The battles that I posted about, happened (or rather were underway) when I was in the sector(s).

It's not what someone has done..it's about what they are about to do!

Hehe I run out of stuff to do fairly quickly. I think it comes from playing Reunion and being in 'hardcore' mode when i played TC. Even the Hub plot wasn't that bad lol. Not looking forward to it this time though Cry

Thinking about putting that plex building script in this time Hephaistos Corp. Station building service. That will save a lot of effort.

Another thing in my game is ships seem to be bailing left and right. I had bad luck when trying to cap them last game, but now like on xenon patrols those Ns and Ms are bailing like mad. I just shoot it though, CBA to repair them and sell em all.

You arent mooning them out the rear window or something? LOL j/k

I think its something to do with the randomiser in computers... ie its not being not completely random. I find sometimes you go into a bad patch (not finding an item / low luck), then completely the other way (even finding two or more). Happened to me in so many different games too.

Got something else kinda off.

I started the Terran plot. The mission where you patrol from Heretics End to Treasure Chest and the Xenon show up. While in Omicron Lyrae turns out the Terrans aren't quite welcome. There were also Paranid and Split mercs after them. Ive honestly never seen that before. Nearly the entire sector was trying to kill the guys following me lol. No joke, they even had that titan shooting them and I was dodging PPC and flak.

Im yelling at the screen "STOP FOLLOWING ME YOU IDIOTS!".

hehe, one of the down-sides of turrets - they dont care who or what is in the way, they see a target in range they just go for it. Sounds like you were the bait without with being asked :p
