Just picked up another Mammoth.
On the way back to my temporary "home" sector I decide to put the new beast to work.
I have 2 MDS in the front and the required software, but she won't collect rocks or mine anything.

Is there any truth to new pilots needing to gain experience?

On the way back to the temp 'home' sector, this new Mammoth pilot can't fly a straight, unobstructed line from jump gate to jump gate. He keeps drifting off course and nearly crashed into any station that boarders the "shipping lanes".

I'm on my way back to transfer everything to my other Mammoth to see if I can get that one to start doing some mining for me.
This other one have been with forever.

ive never heard that. But being in sector with it when its trying to mine (or even fly to a gate) is a bad idea though lol.

what command did you give it to mine?

I wonder, do they use missiles or lasers to mine?

- Sinxar

In the 'Command Console'--'Special'--'Mine Minerals'--make sure it's set to mine what you want..Ore/Silicone/Ice..then click 'Start Mining'

I've only seen ships that are ordered to mine use lasers.
Having an MDS is not required. I've had many TS's mine just fine by using IRE's or PAC's.

If I'm flying a ship, I have used missiles to break up 'roids.
