I'm in a Pirate sector, the one west of Maelstrom, just looking around again.
I have my newly acquired Centaur M6 and my escort TL Elephant with me.

Most of the pirate ships are blue (friendly) and some are red (enemy)..different factions I guess.
Well, a small group of 'reds' decide to mess with my TL. The second the 'reds' started to fire on the TL, my X-shuttle launched and began to attack the 'reds'...just like a fighter drone would do.

None of the other 13 fighters on-board the TL launched, just the X-shuttle.
The TL and the X-shuttle made small work of the Falcon, 2 Blastclaw's, and a pair of Harriers.

This is the first time I've seen fighter craft launch from a carrier ship under attack, on it's own.
I'm thinking it's part of the X-shuttle's "programming".

Very interesting....very COOL.
I like this X-shuttle more and more.

It's not what someone has done..it's about what they are about to do!

Did they have an home-base selected?

Yes.
The X-shuttle has the Elephant as it's home base.

Is that what cause it to launch?

Automatic response of a ship, if it has no prior command is to defend its home base. Set the rest to have home as the TL, that should tell them to launch as well.

Yes, they will defend their home-base if attacked.
