Let's here about your personal ship that you fly in Terran Conflict most, if not all, of the time.

Did you buy it, cap it, find it?
Reason you made it your ship..looks, weapons load-out, shield, speed, etc.
Any reason you named it...if you have a name for you ship.

What weapons do you have?
Do you run with a 'normal load' of missiles?
Do you run any particular missions because you have this ship?

Mine:
A Split Tiger (M7)...The Geneva. Named after an ancient city of peace, which this ship is not made for!
I like the speed and the weapons' load I can have on-board and it is kind of sexy looking!
It was the second M7 I bought.

I have 4 CIG and 4 ISR up front as my main guns.
A pair of IBL in the left and right turrets.
A pair of ISR in the upper and lower turrets.
In the back, I have a pair of PRG for missile defense.

I have all the (legal) upgrades, including jump and transporter. Any non-legal upgrades are on escort ships.
I found Hull Polarizing Device on a capped Carrack and installed it.

The normal load-out;
50 advanced satellites
1250 energy cells
4 fighter drones and 4 MkII fighter drones
2 freight drones

100 Wasp missiles
20 Hurricane missiles
75 Thunderbolt missiles
75 Tempest missiles
50 Hornet missiles
25 Typhoon missiles
25 Firestorm missiles

I do assassin missions and defend station missions when I feel like it.
Most of the time I just fly around kicking over ant hills.

It's not what someone has done..it's about what they are about to do!

Teladi Shrike - 'Shrike If You Wanna Go Faster'

The How: Bought this one. In previous Pirate themed games though they are fairly easy to cap.

The Why: Combination of Gauss Cannons, Flak Arrays and Incendiary Bomb Launchers. Not much I can't grind into shavings from the bridge of this beasty Big grin Also, being able to carry a wing of 8 heavy fighters (Eclipse normally, for the huge shielding), so I've got a decent fighter screen. My Eclipse wing can take down Qs before I even get in firing range Big grin

Armament: 4 IBL and 4 CIG up front, split into 2 weapon groups. More IBL would drain the laser energy far too quickly. Up/Down turrets: 2 Flak Arrays. Left/Right turrets: 2 Gauss Cannons (for Capitals) or 2 Flak Arrays. Rear turret: 2 CIG

(When playing ***Modified*** I also keep 10 PRG, 10 PBE and 10 EBCG aboard for use with the MARS script).

Cargo: 1200-2000 ECells. Ammo for Gauss Cannons (only 20 units at a time, I produce it and have a dedicated CLS pilot to refill me when I run low). Typhoon Missiles...LOTS AND LOTS of Typhoon Missiles. Normally I can carry up to 600. They make short work of Ks Wink

Software: Everything. If I'm carrying illegal software and the AI want to take a pop at me for it, well, I've got a hold full of Typhoons :p And Flak Cannons Big grin

This is my primary ship for going and bugging the Xenon. I like to start a tour from the South gate of X-598 and see how far into their space I can get before I run out of Typhoons and Gauss ammo.

***

So, that's my M7. For just tooling around the universe though....

Argon Heavy Centaur Prototype - 'Crash Test'

The How: Stolen from the Argon Military whilst it was on patrol in Akeela's Beacon.

The Why: Quite simply put this is the best ship in the game for stealing other M6/TM class vessels. Being able to fit up to 12 Ion Disruptors (6 in the main and 6 in the turrets, which makes you all but invulnerable to missiles! Big grin ). She's fast @ 154 m/s, carries 800MJ of shielding and can hold her own against anything smaller than an M2. Plus, she's pretty damn sexy looking...

Armament: 2 CIG, 2 PBG, 2 PBE in the main bank split across 3 weapon groups. I switch them all out for Ion's during boarding ops though. Left/Right/Rear turrets: PRGs or PBEs for anti missile work (again, I keep a few others aboard when I'm playing ***Modified*** for MARS).

Cargo: Up to 100 ECells for jumping around, the weapons as listed above, 50 Wasps, 50 Typhoons, and a smattering of Hornets/Tempests.

Software: Same as the Shrike.

This is my general personal ship, when I'm NOT hunting Xenon. Also my first choice when I see a corvette or TM I want to steal Big grin

For me it was probably the Split Cobra when I was playing X3TC. I had enough missiles being made to keep it running. I could also go boarding when I wanted too, for some extra ships.

I like the Cobra, Roguey.
A bit sluggish on the helm but a beast that I want to have on my side in any battle.
One of these was my first M7M.

Kirlack--you wouldn't believe how many times I've looked at the Shrike and was impressed.
I would definitely fly one if her speed was a little closer to 110 m/s.
Her weapons load-out with 2 Carrack for anti-fighter support...Damn, that would be a sweet battle group!

Scott--I too like the X-shuttle. I also "found" that Skate Prototype. They are both part of my escort fleet, along with 2 Blastclaw Prototypes that are docked with the Elephant that follows me around.

With Lucikes personnel transporter and military transports scripts running in my modded game, I can hire or train Helmsman/Navigator/Machinist, which improve the speed and handling of any ship non fighter they're aboard. My modded Shrike does 108m/s, with my crew members aboard. My Griffon does 138, my HCP 169, making it as fast as a vanilla Hyperion Big grin That, plus CODEA (enhanced carrier command and controls script), were the primary reasons I chose to mod my game.
