OK.
I've got a Laser Tower Complex pumping out Towers. Only 2 stations in the Complex but that's fine.
Deployment---I've seen non-player deployment like someone just opened their cargo doors and dumped them out.
Is there a strategy to placing Laser Towers?
Presently I'm placing the around my Complexes and stations.
I'm not bunching them up, I'm giving some distance between them. I'm looking for better coverage my spacing them.
As back-up I have fighters that are being 'homed' at each Station/Complex that I deploy Towers.
Thoughts about deploying them?

I found out that Laser Towers will begin to take aim on hostile forces at about 2.5 km.
But they will track and continue to fire at a greater distance...maybe twice the initial engagement distance.
With this information, I will have to deploy additional Laser Towers.
Twice the number I've already deployed.
While my spacing is good, and the Stations and Complexes are nicely covered, holes in my defenses will quickly open up if a determined force takes out just one of the Towers.
I'll double up once I have the initial deployment completed.
