I need a replacement Carrack.
The 'Vengeful' and her brave crew were lost battling a Pirate Brigantine, and escort, that had TRIED to invaded Gunne's Crusade, where I have two Complexes and several Stations.
I think it's high time to grab another Carrack, or 3
I'm taking a few ships along to help because I'm going to try to pick up an M1 and/or M2 while I'm down there.
A Panther is coming along to dock any fighters that I might pick up. Some Eclipse and Blastclaw Prototypes are on my shopping list
One thing--Several of my AdvSat's are working in Merchant Haven thru Gaian Star.
I've noticed a Carrack in Gaian Star. It shows up as a "Pirate Syndicate Carrack".
It's been holding the same position for about one (game)day so I figure it will be mine shortly!
Quick question: Is there something "special" about this M7 that I should know about?
It's the first ship I remember seeing with the 'syndicate' title.
I'll update my 'adventures' through Pirate territories, and list the new additions to my fleet

i've heard of the pirate syndicate faction in some other posts, as i understand they spawn once in a while usually as opponents in a plot mission - and killing them will not affect your normal pirate reputation.
pirate variant eclipses didn't look that impressive to me especially statwise, unless you really like the look i would consider those sellable.

Interesting that the 'syndicate' are just pop-ups.
Killing is not what I have in mind, this visit anyway
I will target this one to replace the old Vengeful.
As for the Eclipse, I already have one so if I can manage to grab another pair or 3 I can 'home' them at one of my Stations or Complexes. I'm really more interested in getting a few more Blastclaw Prototypes. I already have a pair of these and I like flying them. They make nice escort fighters too.
After some unexpected re-arrangement, my fleet is under and just entered Maelstrom.
I'm flying my Kraken and have a Shrike and Griffon in escort.
A Panther is following at a distance with a few docked fighters for Jump-drives.
One of my Mistral freighter is bringing along some E-cells and extra shields.
I have a Carrack in my sights already
But it's time to 'save' and hit the hay....

The skipper of this Carrack was good!
He was running from the N Gate to the W Gate in Maelstrom at 100 m/s.
Once he closed on the W Gate, the skipper turns and head nearly due west and continues at a patrol speed of 50 m/s.
Each 15k or so, he pulls a "Crazy Ivan"--quickly turning around and checking behind his ship (an unnecessary maneuver in space, but shows he's on his toes).
It's been a long time since I've capped any ships so my first attempt ended in a brilliant flash of light
The second attempt went much better and I'm pleased to add the 'Defiance' to my fleet

I had a successful time in Gaian Star, and neighboring sectors.
I added 4 Carracks to my fleet; the 'Defiance', 'Diligence', 'Vengeful II', and 'Sordid'.
Also I capped a couple of as-yet unnamed ships--2 Galleons and a Brigantine.
Yes, I did a few re-starts when I accidentally destroyed my target ship (3 times) or lost more then 50% of my Marines (1 time). With 7 total boardings I lost 1 Marine...'May his soul meet the Progenitors'.
Those sectors below Merchant Haven are pretty empty of (all) traffic right now.
But I'm sure things will get back to normal in those part in a little while.
Upgrading and arming my new additions right now
I have to keep an eye on some of my personal sectors.
Seems Pirate activity has increased a little in those places where I have Stations and Complexes.

As your rep with the clans drops further and further it would make sense for them to push into 'your' sectors for some measure of retribution. I've used GC as a drug lab for a good long time, but securing it from incursion takes a lot of firepower.
Congrats on the caps! Can I borrow your Brigantine? Mine's broke lol

Not a problem, buddy. Glad to help out anytime. Just buy the crew a few drinks afterwards to keep them happy
Although you may have to wait a little bit....
I just located a HUGH Pirate force, headed up by a Galleon, within 5 sectors of Gunne's Crusade (one of my main sectors. She's got 14 'homed' fighters plus 15 addition fighters in escort.
If they get too close to my stuff I'll drop the Brigantine, a Boreas, and my Griffon on their unlucky butts.

Reminds how great it would be if the whole x-universe would be online. We could borrow each other ships

That would be great--if it was an online game.
"Borrow" a ship or pay a small bounty for it's use.
HEY!! A weaker player could 'tithe' a stronger/powerful player for protection, until player #1 is strong enough to protect his/her own interests?
Onlining the X-universe could open up so many possibilities!

Another one, a new player could fly a ship owned by a big player, the way some people "hire" pilots in their DiDs...
And, did anyone notice that the removal of SETA would be essential for this environment? Anyone want to take bets that Ego had multiplayer in mind when they took that out?

That's a good point, yeni.
Egosoft would have to drop SETA if they ever thought of a multi-player version.

Update: I added another Carrack, giving me a total of 8 (so far).
On a side note--several Sectors in the middle of map are crawling with Pirate vessels.
Several Carrack and a handful of Galleons and Brigantines are showing up along with over 100 fighters.
Might need to go capping again
You know, to keep the X-universe safe and all that
