Roguey , the m1 carrier ( ie bird farm ) ex navy here.. I believe the problem was all guns were set for missile deference so they were not even making it to the ship. . The poor pirates can not keep any sec defense down by Giain Star. Seems the carricks just just keep getting taken or borrowed or maybe they just like me better lol.

Assuming that the defensive guns are the problem, I only am aware of 2 possible tactics with good chances of success. One, from a M7M, send a hail of flails plus enough hammers to smash the shields, then keep up the flails and shoot the boarding pods - keep the flails going til the hull is cut thru. Two, load out a ship with lots of Ion Disruptors and fry every gun off the Galleon, then board as usual.

I had shields down and kept them down while I sent boarding pods. I would be told
by Betty that boarding op failed boarding pods destroyed.
. Shields would be at 3 percent or so.To me since it had no escorts and nothing around,my conclusion is boarding pods shot down. Other ideas?

For the ion idea, you can keep shooting once the shields are down and start frying off other internal devices, like the guns, the engine tunings, the software, any internal sentry lasers and the like. It might take a bit longer, but if there's no guns left, it can't shoot down the pods.

Thanks will try that. ..Found a carrick needing a.new home, that makes3needing a new home.Now my fleet has the 3large german cruisers.

[update] oops I am sorry i meant I had 3 carricks 3 brigs and 1 Galilean hmm fleet getting bigger everyday lol

I started a new game as the usc commander trying to get the aladin start. While doing the goner plot end game this stupid galian kept pestering me. Now I know a panther can take that ship, but will I was trying to be nice. Well anyhow after I finshed the plot I went there to have a look see and it bothered me again so I just kinds took it home lol
