Ah I see, well what I meant is it would be nice if there was some advantage to web connectivity but not a requirement. If you do decide to log-in, you could talk to people, post news or something extra (audition off a ship etc.). However whatever this is shouldnt change the gameplay but expand on what you can do. To have no web connectivity would seem a bit cold.

An example:
How cool would it be to open up your own shop that sells ships that you designed/painted. When you log in every so often, you could get a check from the net from people who have brought your ships via a global BBS.

I always said and stick by it. There would be nothing wrong with a multiplayer aspect to the x series or even an mmo, they just lack people with vision at Egosoft, you only have to look at the plotlines and stories for confirmation.

I could real off 20 ideas of the top of my head right now to implement such a scenario without too much effort.
