By the time you got the beta key and you got acclimated to the process of bug hunting/reporting (not that they are listening anyways) the game would already be out.

However you will probably be on the team for the patches for all those lovely things you were hoping would be in v1.0

True, im sure egosoft will re-open the NDA process after the release. Just now isnt a good time.
