the cargo bay extension should work the same although, but may need a lot more of them. Since 1 upgrade, adds just 1 extra space.

I was adding 20 at a time. There was no change at all.
Some items have to be added rather than installed. It's just trial and error to determine which.
Seemed to work on quite a "common sense" basis too!
Generally, if it's a permanent fixture like a ship component... "Install"! If it isn't, just "add" it and install from your cargo bay later if necessary.
~Didn't work with my cargo bays either way.
