Hi,

i'm new to this forums and i'd like to introduce a new modding ressource, we've recently released in the Egosoft German TC Modding Forum.

As most people have realized, Egosoft didn't spend much time to make different turret types that actually fit the different races look. Thats why me and Systemlord-Anubis came up with the idea to build different turret types for every race. The Ressource contains atm only my turrets and contributions from Killjaeden. Anubis turrets will be released with the next update.

If you've made turrets yourself and like to contribute, we are always happy to add new stuff to the resource Wink, credit will be given of course.

Most turrets come in different sizes from M1/M2,M7/T to M6. The bods are also included in the file for easier use.

I agree they do look good, congratulations on a good job!

The only downside is to get each race to use them, you would manually have to edit every single ship bod file. I would of liked Egosoft to expand on the turret idea and give each gun a unique 'barrel'. This way you could see which guns are fitted by just looking at them.

This would of been something I would of included into my X3 mod - if I was granted permission of course. I have been thinking about doing an TC mod, although the site has been taking all my time.

First of all, thanks both of you Smile.

I'm in the middle of editing the ships scene files ^^. There are only turrets for the larger captial ships, cruisers, TLs and corvettes, not that much work in the end, but it takes some time.

The Egosoft turrets are made, well pretty "halfhearted", some of them have far to many polygons, not to mention the lack of variety, plus on most ships they cannot be placed correctly in the top&bottom areas.

You can use the turrets, this is a modding resource after all. The aim was to give modders some variety for their spaceships, there is no need to ask for permission Smile, just a "thank you" in the credits will be nice.

No, i don't have access to an ftp, it would be nice if you upload the mod.

Currently, i'm working on a larger battleships Mod, which i call "M1 Plus". These are combinations of a carrier & destroyer and i'm nearly finished most ships, still lacking one for the Khaak, Xenon, maybe Yaki, would be cool if you can host them also.

Those are amazing looking ships! You definitely very good at modelling.

Myself, I am not a modeller - I have basic skills in modelling. I can connect parts, rotate, scale, texturing is pain! but I cant model anything like that. Seeing those ships makes me want to start making a new mod for TC.

PJM (modeller who created the Split Wulfen) told me that Egosoft ships were badly built. He showed me how the Hyperion was created within a few minutes. He also said about the model had 'holes' in it, in-which I replied: "Damn, that's not a good thing to have in a spaceship!" Roll eyes

Are all those creations your own? and have you based any of the designed on copyrighted ships?

Just recently the time I have, as been going into developing this website. I cant say its 'finished'.. but its getting there.

Thanks Smile. Yes, i've made the ships from the scratch, except for the ATF M1P, which based on Egosoft X3:TC Valhalla. It's not used in the game, because it doesn't fit through any standard gate. Therefore i decided to make some changes to it, to make it useable.

I haven't seen the Wulfen, yet is it in your reunion mod, but he is right some models are in bad shape and needs to be heavyly reworked e.g. the USC M3P Cutlass, the Modeller copied the middle/rear section of the ship, several times inside the Model, at first glance i thought i've loaded the lods with the ship, which wasn't the case, that increased the polygon count to roughly 25000 and yes, most ships have holes ^^ which isn't good for a spaceship Big grin.

The Website make a good impression to me Smile. I've stumbled across your site from your latest post in the Egosoft S&M Forum

Its seems that your M2P is my M0 class in X3, have a look. Between those ships and yours, there would be a complete line up of M0/M2P's for every race! I would say the only downside to every race having a massive ship is that the class wouldnt be so special, unless the player doesnt have access to them. Is there any things I should be worried about when importing X3 ships to Terran Conflict?

Glad you found the site, although seems many people 'stumble' on it - guess that a good thing.

I have started doing a bit for a Terran Conflict mod and wondered what you thought about including the turrets? It would be easy to included if you have changed all the scenes/bods.. ie. a mini-mod, by the sounds of it youre already doing that?

I can't see most of the ship, because of the sun in the background, but it looks good so far. I haven't ported much from reunion to tc, but sometimes there are some problems with the shaders, but this only happens on rare occasion.

Well, i decided to start an M1P class because, M0 ships don't exist in the game and Egosofts understanding of an M0 is a planetkiller. However, none of these ships is big enough to fill this role e.g. my Argon M1P is 2.5x bigger than an argon m2 and the argon destroyer is the smallest one of all races.

I have started doing a bit for a Terran Conflict mod and wondered what you thought about including the turrets? It would be easy to included if you have changed all the scenes/bods.. ie. a mini-mod, by the sounds of it youre already doing that?

I'm still working on the Tships, currently i want to finish my USC M1P, but it is nearly done Smile. Once i have the scene files and tships ready i release it as a mini mod, however it doesn't have much priority for me, mainly because its just annoying copy&paste, plus setting up all turrets in 3ds max.

I know what you mean, editing numinous scenes is rather boring. At the moment I am making a TC mod which has no changes to tships. Just thought it would be great to see those turrets in there and for the moment its rather easy to add (when I start adding ships things could become rather 'busy' ).

The M classes is a mess to be honest. I hope they would of sorted them in TC - if anything its got more complex with M7M etc. It should be simply M1 to M8 (big to small)

Oh sorry, the glow was so bright that it tought is was an extrem lensflare effect ^^. I will add the turrets to the game, but i take on any help i can get, if someone is willing to rework all scene files and the tships, unfortunately there aren't many who are capeable.

Anyway, the USC M1P is ready Smile

I would help you out with the scene files however a bit busy with importing sectors, planets, backgrounds, sun from my X3 mod to a TC mod.

I havent uploaded anything yet, cos my Internet is playing 'around' - for some reason the router gets slower and slower. The only way to fix it, is to reset it means going down the roof space which isnt 'fun' which I will do today but its always a pain!

Depends on what you need "upgraded". I will do it, if this can be done in a resonable amount time Smile.

I understand what you mean. The things I would like are small things anyway, im thinking of the following:

- Upgraded model of the destroyed moon (Bod came from X2 originally). The mesh should not be over complex as there could be 10-15 in a 'background'. Its just its rather old and could with a bit of improvement.

- New Laser-tower model. I have built my own version but its still 'plain' and could be 'upgraded'.

- New Fighter drone model - again I done one but it could be better.

- New Cargo pods - another model ive done which could do with a upgrade,

- Squash mine model - isn't a triangle rather 'plain' now?

Any of those things would be great - even 1 would be good. Just let me know what you can do and ill email the models which I currently use. Its normally customarily that any modeller who helps gets their own sector and/or ship in the mod. The ship is between M6 to M5 but you need to make one. So you may want a sector instead which I can make or you.
