I'm planning this for Harmony of Perpetuity...
Somewhere out there is a Cobra Mk III with my name on it.
It isn't mine, some rando actually wrote my name across the side of his ship...

I agree - Terran MRE does seem to sell well. Are you selling it at 291? or 292? (ie. just below average)?

Your text goes here..
I sell just 1 under 291, the stock exchange sells at 262, so i gotta sell 1 cred lower. I plan on making a E cell complex, i'm not sure where though.

Why does everyone sell there goods to other races, when you can assign CAGs to sell your goods for you, for a Much higher profit? I usually sell all my goods pretty close to max.

Im on my third complex now - which mainly sells space weed: 14 bliss places in freedom's reach. The factories cant make it fast enough! Ill have to get a few pics

Warzone - I've got the the outer Solar System pretty well supplied so I can guarantee my CAGs would set off for Jupiter at the first opportunity.
Nothing survives that unless personally escorted.

With CAGs, you have full control on where they go. You can select the sectors you don't want them going to.

I guess with NPC ships you get a small boost to your reputation when they land - do you get that with your own ships? I guess the other thing is the extra cost for ships.

From what I've experienced, When I pilot a ship and sell goods (or my CAGs) I get a small rep increase. Rep is easily attainable anyways, whether my complex makes me rep or not. When it comes to making complexes, I care more about the profitssss, than rep. Otherwise why would I invest 400mil on a closed Loop complex to gain a small amount of rep, when I could just fly around and do missions for a fraction of the cost? Same goes for the ships you purchase for your CAG pilots. That just comes with having a complex. Those ships don't have to be anything fancy anyways. That's the beauty of CAGs. Just about any TS will work. Besides, within the first few hours of your complex running, you'll make the money back..... I prefer Mistrals with Max cargo over any TS in the game.

In my case I'm working to stimulate the Terran economy as much as actually make money thus far. As such I suspect its better to let the NPCs do the fetch & carry in so far as they can. I'm now having to supplement them in Pluto and Neptune as I seem to have flattened the local e-cell supply.

I guess CAG's work best in safe sectors. However if you build a complex near enemy/pirate sectors then maybe NPC ships are best?
My third complex makes space weed and the NPC ships are buying it faster than 14 stations can make it! If I were to use CAG's, then they could be attacked by nearby pirate ships.
However my other complexes (in safe places) I guess I should start setting up trade ships for them.

There's a difference. Why risk your CAGs selling illegal goods? that's just asking for them to get blown to pieces. Besides....when you do build your complex in pirate sectors, you always make sure, your a good distance from any gate. I have plenty of complexes in pirate sectors, and I have no problems at all. All my CAG pilots must be 100 years old by now
Its almost like the pirates are helping out my CAGs, cross the spacelane to my complex.
CAGs have advanced settings anyways. Blacklisting, and the option to only trade in sectors with Satelites, both works without any issues. Your almost always going to have left over intermediates, so what do you do? Have npcs buy your intermediates? I'd be afraid they'd screw over my complex and buy everything out, and leave my complex offline. Unless everyone builds "perfect" closed loop complexes.
The only ships I do have problems with, is my UTs. There basically useless. I don't agree with having no control over where they go. I Just stopped caring altogether, and let them get blown away in Black Hole and Omicron. My 2 vet UTs are the only 2 left, and I'm satisfied with it.
Eventually I will drop a few laser towers and some defense ships, but right now, I believe pirate sectors aren't all that dangerous. After Patch 1.1 OOS combat was vastly improved, so if you do experience issues, Obviously put up a few defense, and assign a few ships to patrol. Or you could always just warp in and watch the fireworks instead of trusting your defense OOS.

I never really thought about selling the intermediates, usually one or two of them pile up and I just leave it. However good idea about selling some of them CAG's. eh.. its extra money eh?
