It was pure fluke that me and Roguey managed to meet up in Elite Dangerous, since it seems the text chat is now seemingly restricted to a 100LY range .... so many times i could have done with just typing to someone ......
There is need for an external app to talk wether the games designers want us to or not, i could use steam mobile, but would need to set up a group to make it easier ....
Just wondered if anyone else had any ideas of something we could use so we dont have to tab out of game etc.

lol, what an odd concept - you cant talk to people over 100ly range. I wonder whats Frontier's reasoning for it.. its not like your placing a long distance call or anything.
I could copy 'n paste my chat room, and bung it on the Elite & Dangerous site. Although im not sure how many would use it.

Currently sitting in quakenet's #elitedangerous though I don't know who it's run by.

I just use the Steam overlay. Works good with E:D. This way you could use "Roguey's Group" group chat if you wanted.

Ah, I was thinking something like that might be better than a web-page. Although are many here on steam?
