Conqoguey (21)

As far as I understand it, there are three major factions:
*Alliance(Alioth)
*Empire(Achenar)
*Federation(Sol)
(as seen @wikia.com)

Then there are those Independents..while this is not counted as a "faction".

But where does those "Imperials" fits? Is this another writing of Empire?

Well the Imperial rank is tied to the Empire systems (the Imperial Courier needs a Empire rank of Barron). I think its just another name for their military, although I might be wrong.

I asked this because of its presence in the "allegiance" field.

When I accidently mixed Empire and Imperium in a system the allegiance field showed a lila orb instead of an empire "eagle".
Maybe I am in the "wrong" sector of the universe but I have not met an imperium ruled system yet.

Instead I have found many systems which allegiance was named as anarchy(really!) instead of fed/emp/ind.

Imperial is just another word for empire.

Yea your right. Okay ive removed Imperial from the allegiance field. I probably had it in the options because I wasnt too sure myself awhile back.

Thank you, it will help a lot as the "Empire" faction was translated as "Imperium" in the german game version which may lead someone to choose the wrong Imperial faction..
