LTT 5131 will get you around 22K if you fully scan the entire system
CD 33-8748 is 2 stars and one planet worth a total of 16K
LTT 4487 is a very large system but worth 26K fully scanned

isnt the best things to scan earth-like-worlds? dont they net around 30k each?

Airseklis 73.044CR
People report there are systems with even more than 100k to be found.
Exploring is not really that fun.. systems with 30 objects to scan yields sometimes laughable 20k but take lot of time.

What about a new section like "special stellar objects" or so?

I want to "see" black holes Smile
Do someone could name a system nearby?

Distances are "guessed" from system "Elysia"

Black holes
29.988ly V4641 Sagittarii
25.888ly Sagittarius A*
07.500ly V404 Cygnii
00.672ly 27 Gamma Cassiopeiae
00.646ly Mintaka
00.644ly HIP 27395
00.305ly HIP 23692
00.283ly HIP 19218
00.214ly HIP 63835 = 228.370 CR
red dwarfs
00.700ly LBN 623 Sector QD-S b4-1

Be sure to keep a safety distance to black holes and neutron stars.. (4ls will do).
Black holes are invisible(their high gravitation catches even light..)
but I have flown around a black hole until a large object was covered and really there was a lense effect!
Those guys from Frontier are amazing! They added even the gravitational lense effect to black holes Nod

Yes I agree that these are fairly tiresome systems to scan, CD 33-8748 is the best of the bunch with only 3 items to scan, I would also assume that the area I am currently traversing will not have much of interest to get the big bucks but I will keep looking.

LoL I have purchased an Advanced system scanner and by hell or high water I WILL make it pay for itself

Some hints about explorering the voids..
Lets have a look at the different available discovery scanner and their scan ranges:
    [*]Basic Discovery Scanner, 1.000CR, up to 500ls
    [*]Intermediate Discovery Scanner, 500.000CR, up to 1.000ls
    [*]Advanced Discovery Scanner, 1.500.000CR, entire System
A new player has to work a long time until he can afford the best one.
Until then it is very time consuming to find unexplored objects which are out of the poor scan range.
Some systems got objects about 200.000ls away from the entry point..

With luck some may follow other ships until they finally get new "blops" on the scanner.
Others cross systems over and over again to find "moving" objects..

Different objects yields different money (see lavewiki).
I wanted to know how much money I would "loose" if I dont take the time to scan all of them.
I will use system Nu Kop for an example:
    sun= ?????:02425
    01 = 01639:09832 metal rich
    02 = 00974:05842 metal
    03 = 00400:02401 dwarf-star class Y
    3A = 00500:00774 stone
    3B = 00500:00775 stone
    3C = 00500:00793 stone
    04 = 00530:03179 gas giant class 1
    4A = 00500:00701 ice
    4B = 00500:00669 ice
    4C = 00500:00685 ice
    4D = 00500:00692 ice
    4E = 00500:00687 ice
    4F = 00500:00715 ice
    05 = 00500:01082 ice(helium)
    06 = 00500:01124 ice(helium)
    07 = 00500:00715 ice(methane)
    08 = 00634:03804 gas giant class 1
    =============
    === 12602:37285

First value shows objects "worth" if just a system-wide scan has be done.
Like scanning from entry point without targeting anything else(except of the sun).
Second value shows objects "worth" if also a detailed surface scan has been made.

Final conclusion:
Asteroid belts scans yields NOTHING yet.
I did a whole scan of Nu Kop (without the belts) then got to a station to check this.
Launched and scanned all missing "belts" and checked universal cartographics again.
Nothing changed, so there is really no "complete system scan" bonus yet.

Mid-game it seems to be boring to be stuck in a system just to scan EVERY of lets say 30 objects.
Money may be important early in the game but if are in hurry you should only take 1/3rd of the pie:
Just do a normal scan and move on to the next system, leave detailed scans for others..

After flying in the void for 270ly some of my Cobra's systems starts failing..
Next time I should try to carry the autorepair unit with me!

Not sure if anyone has notcied, but Level 2 detailed scans are incrementing now. Smile

People said Level 2 and 3 were supposed for later updates.. seems the time for it has come finally Wink
Funny. I have not noticed this until you were talking about it.

Just a short thought:
It seems that the detailed surface scans were already internally counted but not shown.
Because some days ago I got a pretty zero written after the "level 2"..

So I predict detail scan 3 will show the very special scans..like black holes..
Just 120ly and I will see if this is true..

I believe some one elsewhere said that
level 1 is the discovery scanner,
level 2 is a target, get in range and wait for the analysis and
level 3 is same as level 2 but with detailed surface scanner

I am not sure if anyone can confirm that or not

Well, I did full system scans and I still have a poor zero(detailscans level3).
Perhaps the level 3 means.. scanned an undiscovered system and sold the data to those cartographic guys.
So no tag on a system with my name on it YET Cry

Or not fully implemented?

Picture
Visited some black holes, neutron stars(I did not even see them but scan said it was a neutron star..) and found some complete systems first.
You can find ind HIP 63835 and Beta Muscae nice black holes Wink

The trip was about 280-300LY through space where only one independent base was HIP 74290.
This looks ideal to scan for planets to get your "explored by" tag.
Although it is around 170LY east of the empire space the HIP 74290 is a useful base to sell your data.
And get repairs..

Problem: I still got nothing else than the Cobra(12ly jump range yet -.-) and the next place to get an ASP is still 291LY away..

And confirmed: No increase about the discovery level 3.. still zero Cry

For all sold system data: you earn first the whole bunch for exploration (for example 30.000CR) and for each previously unclaimed object additional 50%. So another 15.000CR surplus(and your name tag).
Hence, if I only had found those 238.270CR system first!

Very nice! I'm still exploring in a Cobra myself but upgraded the FSD so I have a 22Ly range. Was first to explore some of the RHO Ophiuchi systems and have found no black holes or neutron stars yet.

nice one DHLF, looks like you found some interesting stuff. I kept on finding ice planets, which was disheartening Confused

I guess ill have to do another trip sometime, although wont be a for a bit.
