I bet this gets asked a lot but I feel that for a game as massive Elite Dangerous is, there would be more ships or something. How many megacorporations do we have and how many of them don't sell their own state of the art ship? We don't have much in the names of ship variants either like the Mechs in Battletech.

I just feel like we need a larger variety of ships 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254...

I agree totally myself - many space games (such as X3-4) have 100's of ships. Elite with its 38 ships is rather lacking - why cant imperial systems all have imperial ships, same for federation (then ranks unlock ships)?

I know each ship has a lot of attention to detail, but still would be nice to have imperial and federation variants of each role of ship; then having the independent ships having a mix of roles and styles.

As for adding more ships, im doubtful. FD said they arent adding anything which effects the base game (they said they will be focusing on a single code-base: Odyssey). I might be wrong.
