hi there,

NetHawk recommended me to look into a chat system for the site, after some looking around I came up with this:

- Roguey's IRC chat

I think everything is setup okay... havnt used IRC for a long time!

ps. you guys know we have an arcade too? Smile

glad you like. I did think about coding something but when things are around like this, why not use it? its fits quite well Smile

This is what I've found today when I woke up

To clear it up, I am not a bot! Well...maybe I am a cylon...but that's another matter entirely

Anyway, here are some IRC pointers:
IRC is not Instant Realtime Chat, it is Internet Relayed Chat. I'm saying this because people think of IRC as a IM client, where in reality you should look at it like a simpler forum. IRC's protocol is so basic, that actually, I can't even see it on my network monitor. This being said, it's pretty easy to just leave open all the time, and some of us do so.
Now if you come into chat and someone doesn't answer right away, it's not cause we don't want to, but because we got other stuff to do. For me that means, I could be sleeping, at school, at work, eating, working on a project, or any other activity that keeps me away from my PC. I do generally leave chat open, so if you stick around long enough, I'll answer Big grin

For those who can't be bothered reading my ranting:
What I wanna say with the above is, IRC is NOT INSTANT MESSAGING. So, be a little patient, it won't hurt you I promise. See ya'll around Big grin

Ok, some of todays stats.
1 logged in, didn't say a word, and logged out after 1min1sec (exact).
1 made it for 16 seconds before logging out
1min 32 seconds for the guest asking me if I'm a bot.
47 seconds for another guest.

Know what....I think of adding a couple bots that talk to each other, just to make people feel to stay there! Big grin

I do go on it, I have it open now I can see NetHawk on there. I said Hello. So I do use it.

good to hear. I guess we turn-up at different times which doesnt help - we have to arrange a time or something soon.

Normal time for me is 5pm onwards. And all day at weekends.

Well, I'll just make a bot that works as a drop-box e.g.:
!drop NetHawk heyo

will result that when I get online, the bot goes:
NetHawk, new message from: The White Tiger : hey

think that will help a bit

hmm, ok, now you given me a real reason to make it happen

It's kinda pointless developing stuff when noone uses it, but if people find it cool then we can make it happen

we might have a little problem then. My computer is up 24/7/365 except when power is not available. When my computer is on, IRC is on. So, basically I'm always there.
