I am using a 34-inch ultrawide monitor and want to experience some old PC games (from the 2000s and earlier). However, I am concerned that many games may not support this resolution or will be stretched. Has anyone in the forum tried it? If so, how can I fix it, for example, patching widescreen or mod?

Stuff from the early 2000s usually hardcodes 4:3. I've had luck with community widescreen patches. Try looking on PCgamingWiki, it lists fixes for most classics. I used it to get Half Life 2 and Deus Ex running perfectly on my 34 inch.
