The laser tower cheat still works. You have to obtain a 1G shield, a plasma beam cannon, a laser tower, a freight drone, drone command software and a ship (type not important) with free XL cargo room (about 200.)

Deploy the laser tower, trade using drones with the laser tower, transfer the shields and cannon, retrieve the laser tower (either run over it or use special command software - Retrieve Deployed), and harvest what you need/want.

You have to use freight drones for this?
