Rebirth - What we know so far

No SETA - This has been replaced with lanes like roads and highways. Where at set points join into one to travel at high speed. There will also be kind-of highways that carry a lot of ships at once. This could make space feel rather less free-roaming.
Jump-gates are still there,
Your only have one ship?! This seems like a big leap backwards! However your be able to walk inside it. Because you will have only one ship, you will not be able to pilot capital ships!
There will be a lot more focus on drones, such as mining drones, combat drones, shield drones etc. I dont know how I feel about this - a few drones were okay, but not too much focus on them!
Complexes changes from a large bunch of stations into modules such as mining module. This is a welcome change and should help with fps.
There will be low atmosphere, however there will be no landing on planets. Which is a shame.
Ships will have sub-systems so your be able to disable and cripple ships.
No multi-player - so only single-player and PC Only.
There will be sub-races, which is kind-of expected - having one large race of Argon, Boron etc. was a little too basic. Having a new race for each group was getting a little silly.

I must emit im a little worried about Rebirth - the more I hear about it, the more I worry that ego are working on the wrong points. I feel personally Rebirth should have:
Less focus on drones - a few were okay but generally dont depend on them,
Let the player change the ship - focusing one ship is a bit backwards - we are so used to being able to change ships. This limits which game-play roles we can play - giving orders is taking the game out of our hands. Hopefully the AI is better, as I dont trust the AI in X3TC that much (smashed into things and kept turning all the time).
Leave SETA alone - the new idea of space-lanes sounds odd: space is about exploring and not forcing you into a lane so you can travel quickly. Space is a large open area not a road.
Ship customization - rather than put 200-300 ships into the game, why not have 50 however each one is customizable making each ship unique: a Argon Buster is the same ship anywhere.
