What is your best/worst "vanilla" start?
Recently lost my data, my own fault. (was playing with the editor too much without having a vanilla b/up, oops!).
So I am starting afresh. . . . after the worst four hours of trading, running and trying not to watch my shields fry in an instant during a fight, I have come to the conclusion I've lost the plot.
Without doing any missions (not including the station bbs one's in this), just going to trade/fight with your start up stake, whats been the best for you?
Whats been the worst?
Having a Kha'ack cluster sucker punch me when flying through a gate wasn't my idea of fun.

Worst thing to happen to me at the start of a game was to be just about to fly through a gate when a TL jumps in going the other way squashes me. Put a major dent in the productivity of that day...

I dont think had too much problems.. although with the x-games you do get used to having to save every 5-10minutes, as its very easy to die (and loose your progress).

Hence why my last 'Dead is Dead' game was only half an hour or so long.

DiD games require a certain amount of care and attention. Once you get used to being very, very careful, you can easily enough survive to do great things. That said, I've had a fair amount of practice...

The dying? or the getting there? 
I ended up going for the free ships/easter egg containers to get past that initial cash flow blockage. the 75k credit container in the ore belt helped lol. Had a marvellous profit hit though when a Kha'ack armada jumped into Argon Prime while I was there in a Toucan. While I watched Ban Danna die (hey his ship blew up under 2 kha'ack destroyers plus escorts), the amount of salvagable missles and wares was huge. Wonder how the main story will go now? Do I get an Obi-Wan stlye Ban Danna??? "Trade Jules trade!"
