I am at the start of the Terran plot, playing the mission where you have to follow the pirate nova and then scan the pirate base in unknown sector connected to PTNI HQ. I have destroyed all the ships: destroy some, go save to PTNI, repeat. But when I came back to unknown sector and approached the base, no scan started. I even tried buying a freight scanner. Where did I go wrong?

I haven't gotten that far in this particular plot yet.
But I did just read the guide for it.

There's nothing stating this but I know on other 'scan' missions I had to be pretty close...less then 10km.
Where you able to get this close, or closer?
Should be an automatic start to the scanning.

If you have gotten this close and didn't get the scan, hold on a little while.
Someone that knows about this plot will be able to give you some advice.

I'll be following so I can learn more about this plot too.

It's not what someone has done..it's about what they are about to do!

I remember doing this plot a long time ago. The scanning range was strange indeed. I just ended up parking my ass in one of the base's crevices, far closer than 10k. I would assume the closer the better, and if you're not at a stage to handle the fighters in the area then hide in a hole like I did. I do remember that the scan wasn't instant. I had to stay within range for a period of time while it completed

Thanks, I had to go under 500m near the station. Its working now Smile
